The Amuse shells are derived from the 'Pétoncles noirs'. The pétoncle is a small version of the Saint-Jacques scallop. He lives mainly in France on the coast of Charente - Maritime and Brittany. The pétoncle noir has a black, burgundy color, has two curved flaps and a cut-off earpiece at the hinge. The Amuse shells are packaged in packs of four in a luxurious black box with a certificate of authenticity. The shells are a pure tin product and are handmade in the Netherlands.
